Employee Interview

For today’s employee interview we’ll be asking Amanda her recommendations for an earthy, bohemian bride.

What are your gown style recommendations for a boho bride?
Fabric will be a key element in your design choice. I recommend silk shantung, chiffon, or a matte taffeta. Those materials will give your gown a much more organic look and feel. Gowns with ruffles or a lot of texture will also help give you a unique feel. I love this Mori Lee taffeta gown… so much fun!

How can a bohemian bride accessorize her look in a unique way?
Avoid traditional, like a long veil. Instead, wear a birdcage, or a short shoulder length veil. Put flowers in your hair. One to the side or a fresh floral headband. Wear funky and trendy jewelry. And throw on an awesome colored shoe! Or be barefoot if your outdoors.
These headpieces we carry would be great!

What color schemes would be great for a natural wedding?
Try choosing a color palette, rather than one or two very tone specific colors. Or choose one color and stick with any shade derived from that tone. Dessy makes some stunning bridesmaids gowns that are a little less traditional. Like this one. Style #2829

What other things can a bride do to help make the entire theme of her wedding cohesive as a bohemian fete?
Try incorporating eco friendly products throughout your wedding and help make your guests aware. Use natural textures and elements all throughout. Have branches and curly willow accent your bouquets, using natural wood, rather than painted (for chairs, tables, etc.).  Serve cupcakes, rather than cake.

What should the guys wear?
Does your man have style of his own? Chances are, he does. So ask him what he’d like to wear. The day is about him, too. Have the guys wear patterned, or skinny ties or bow ties. Suspenders, vests, sweaters and hats are great ways to give your men a little added flair. If you still want your affair to be formal, have the men wear a gray tux with a skinny lapel.
